Chop your garlic, onions, carrots, celery and cauliflower and set aside.
In a large pot heat your oil over medium heat and add your garlic and onion. Cook until your onion is translucent. In a separate pan cook your bacon, once its cooked drain the grease and set aside. (If you'd like you can add the bacon to the garlic and onions once the onions are translucent if you're looking to save on dishes.)
Next, throw in your celery. cauliflower and carrots. saute until tender.
Once your veggies are tender, add your bouillon cubes and mix until well combined.
Add your broth and bring the soup to a boil. Once boiling, set the heat to low or simmer and add in your split peas and bacon. Cover and let simmer until the peas have expanded while stirring consistently.
